Cargille Brix Chart
Reference to ICUMSA 1974. Currently using the ICUMSA scale from the book, "Sugar Analysis-ICUMSA Methods" edited by F. Schneider and published by the International Commission for Uniform Methods of Sugar Analysis (ICUMSA), 1979.
Select the Brix value in column # 1 that you want to work with and order the refractive index shown in column # 2. Refractive Index Liquids are calibrated at 25°C but Cargille has calculated these values using the temperature coefficients to provide you with the Brix values shown at 20°C.
ORDER "BRIX VALUE CHANGES WITH TEMPERATURE CHANGES CHART" for the liquid you are ordering. The Catalog # is 88105 and the cost is $5.00 per printout. Your will need a printout for each of the refractive index liquids you are ordering, the information is different for each refractive index.
Helpful information:
When working with Cargille Standard Series Refractive Index Liquids to calibrate hand held refractometers and refractometers without temperature controls, it is important to know the temperature because liquids change refractive index with temperature. Take the temperature as close to the refractometer as possible, then refer to the "Brix Value Changes with Temperature Chart for that liquid and see the Brix value for the temperature at which you are working.
Optional: Letter of Certification Catalog# 88101
Letters of Certification will be provided if ordered with the liquids you want certified. The Catalog # for the Letter of Certification is 88101 and the cost is $15.00, if ordered with the liquids, there will be an additional charge if ordered at a later date. We will list multiple items ordered on one Letter of Certification providing the liquids are all from the same category, for example : all Refractive Index Liquids, or all Master Calibration Liquids, or all Laser Liquids. If more than one category of liquids, then you will need a different Letter of Certification for that product.
